What Maple's World does, and doesn't do, with your family's information
Maple's World is a small family site of games for children. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics trackers, and nothing to buy. This page says plainly what information moves where. Last updated 13 October 2026.
The games on the shelf
Most games run entirely in your browser. Progress, characters, pretend coins and purchases are saved on your own device and never sent anywhere. Clearing your browser's site data erases them.
Trampoline Park is played together with other visitors. While you play, your character's number, position, pose and score are shared live with the other players in the same park through our server (hosted by Supabase). Nothing typed is shared, and names are built from word lists, never typed. Nothing from a park is kept after you leave.
The Genie Game Maker
Pip the unicorn makes a game from what a child says out loud. Here is exactly what happens when the microphone is on:
- Listening. When Pip listens, your browser records what is said and sends that short recording, through our server, to ElevenLabs, which turns it into words. The recording is used only for that, and this site does not store it. The audio is not used to identify anyone.
- Thinking. The words go, through our server, to Anthropic's Claude, which plays Pip and writes the game. Only the words of the current conversation are sent, together with the game being made.
- Speaking and music. Pip's voice and each game's music are generated by ElevenLabs from text that our server sends.
Our server passes these requests along and stores none of them: no audio, no conversations, no transcripts. The companies that do the listening, thinking and speaking handle the data under their own terms: ElevenLabs and Anthropic. Pip is told never to ask for a child's name, age, address or school, and to ignore such details if a child says them.
You can use the maker without the microphone: the keyboard button lets a grown-up type instead. The browser asks before the microphone is ever used, and a grown-up can switch listening and Pip's voice off in the grown-up panel (press and hold the gear).
The games a child makes, and the helper pieces Pip writes, are saved on your device only, in the browser. They are not uploaded unless a grown-up publishes one.
Wished Games
Publishing a game to the Wished Games shelf is a grown-up action protected by a passcode. A published game is public, and the only things stored are its title, icon, one line of instructions, the game's code and its music. No name, no voice, no conversation, nothing about who made it. The grown-up who published it can remove it at any time from the same panel.
Fair use limits
To keep the maker affordable there is a daily limit per visitor. For this, our server keeps a scrambled (hashed and salted) version of your connection's address together with a count for the day. The address itself is not stored, the scrambled form cannot be turned back into it, and the rows are deleted after two days.
If a game fails to build, the error message and the game code are logged so the maker can be fixed. These logs contain no audio and no conversation.
Hosting
The site is served by Vercel and the server pieces run on Supabase. Like any web host they see the ordinary technical details of a visit, such as your address and browser type, for the time it takes to serve the page.
Children
This site is made for children and their grown-ups. We do not collect names, contact details or any profile of a child, and we do not use what a child says for anything other than making their game in that moment. A parent who wants a published game removed can do so from the device it was published from, or ask us.
